Job Title: Concessions/Bartender

Location: The Whiting/The Capitol – Front of House            
Reports To: Front of House Manager

Job Description: 

As a member of the House Staff, concession workers/bartenders are responsible for cash handling, customer service, mixing drinks, inventory control, restocking prior to the performance, at intermission and following the performance, and setting up for private events as instructed.

Job Title: Usher

Reports To: Director of Front of House Operations/Front of House Manager

Job Description: 

As a member of the Whiting/Capitol Front of House staff, each employee may be responsible and trained to perform duties for one or all of the following positions including ticket taker, guest seating, operating elevators, floor captain, coat check and pre order pickup. All positions require great customer service and communication skills.

There will be an usher stationed on each floor at the door closest to the rear of the auditorium/theatre on each side of the house on the inside. Positioning may vary.

Job Title: Early Childhood Education Coordinator

Location: Sloan Museum / Longway Planetarium            
Reports To: Curator of Education and Outreach Programs  
FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Description: 

This position will work with the Education and Outreach curatorial staff to design and coordinate all early childhood education initiatives for Sloan Museum and Longway Planetarium. This will include the design of curriculum and delivery programs both in Sloan*Longway facilities and off-site at regional schools and institutions. Programs may occur during morning and afternoons on weekdays along with some evening and weekend work, requiring a flexible schedule. The Early Childhood Education Coordinator will also be responsible for cultivating relationships within the early childhood education community and with families with young learners. A special emphasis will be placed on programming initiatives for Flint families. While this position takes the lead on early childhood programming, it is expected that individuals in this position will conduct classroom and gallery programs in the museum and planetarium as well.

Job Title: Ticket Center Representative
Location: Whiting Auditorium/Capitol Theatre  
Reports To: Ticket Center Supervisor

*This is a part-time position. Mostly working weekends and evenings--as needed—approximately 10 to 20 hours a week.

Job Title: Executive Director of The Whiting & The Capitol Theatre

Organization: The Whiting & The Capitol Theatre        
Reports To: FCCC Board Chair and Whiting/Capitol Council Chair           
FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Description: 

The Executive Director in conjunction with the Board of Directors will champion programming and fundraising for the purpose of funding imaginative concerts, events, and educational opportunities; offering creative new performing arts experiences, and initiating innovative collaborations and community engagement.

The general responsibilities are:

• Provide full oversight of all aspects of the organization, including but not limited to, programming, fundraising, finance, administration, marketing, community presence, operations, and property management.

• Facilitate the long-term artistic budget and operating plan, including concert presentations, educational programs, and revenue-producing rental activities, as well as managing the organizational structure needed to maintain the facility at the highest caliber.

• Act as the fundraising leader, including gifts, grants, sponsorships, endowments, capital campaigns, special projects, and events.

• Responsible for programming, artist relations, educational programs, and concert productions.

• Develops the annual operating budget for the Whiting/Capitol and monitors performance to meet/exceed goals.

• Develops and leads a dynamic staff to fulfill the organization’s overall mission.

Job Title: Systems Analyst

FLSA Status: FT – Exempt 40hrs per week (some weekend/after-hours work as needed)

Job Title: Part-Time Custodian  

Location: Flint Cultural Center Facilities 
Reports To: Custodial Supervisor 
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt 

Note: Shift: Varies; Weekends and nights & Hourly rate varies based on experience

Job Description: Under the direction of the Lead Custodian, the Part-Time custodian will be responsible for the day to day housekeeping of the buildings, heavy cleaning when needed, meetings, special events, and classroom setups.
